Be part of one of the fastest growing, most desirable, and beautiful areas in the United States. Fox 5, Eyewitness News 8 is seeking a highly motivated dynamic and skilled TV News Executive Producer. This position is in Idaho Falls and will work with the area's number one news team.
Responsibilities include:
The executive producer helps lead our daily news coverage to help us dominate the most important stories of the day, while playing a key role in focusing story development from newscast-to-newscast and platform-to-platform. In addition, the EP works with all members of the news team to organize our coverage clearly, so it is engaging, and easy to understand.
Specific Duties:
- Oversight of daily newscast content and production working in conjunction with the Asst. News Director and News Director
- Leads our team in creating crafted daily and digital news content
- Able to think differently, innovate and be an example to others
- Provides quality feedback on newscasts with both the team as a whole and individuals
- Possesses a proven ability to be an idea-generator and storytelling innovator
- Loves to teach and share exciting ideas
- Can step in and write, edit, and produce as needed
- The ability to manage special projects such as elections, wall-to-wall breaking news coverage, staff scheduling as well as award entries
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A four-year degree in Journalism/Communications preferred or related studies. The successful candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience as a producer in a newsroom in a commercial television station. Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to constantly learn and grow. Solid writing, editing and copywriting skills are essential for all our TV and Digital platforms.
