Salary Range: 75k-90k

ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION

Easton Area Neighborhood Centers, Inc. (“The Neighborhood Center”) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) community-based organization that was incorporated in 1967. The Neighborhood Center advances social and economic justice and advocates for the rights of community members with limited resources from the Easton Area and Northampton County. The Neighborhood Center seeks to promote a vibrant and diverse community with the power to shape its own future.

The Neighborhood Center currently offers the following programs and services:

  • Easton Urban Farm
  • Food Pantry
  • Information and Referral
  • Rental and Utility Assistance
  • RoofOver Transitional Housing Program
  • Social Determinants of Health
  • Social Security Representative Payee Service

POSITION: The Executive Director serves as the primary leader, external champion and internal administrator of The Neighborhood Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leadership and Management

  • Ensure the organization and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive manner to stakeholders and the general public.
  • Provide support to the Board of Directors and other Board Committees as needed. Work with the Board to refine the strategic direction of the organization and develop specific action plans to achieve agreed-upon strategic objectives.
  • In partnership with the Board of Directors, recruit, hire, develop, retain, inspire, and motivate a diverse and high performing staff – including key volunteer positions.
  • Ensure that job descriptions are developed and yearly performance evaluations completed.

Resource Development/Financial Management

  • Act as the chief fundraising agent for the organization. This includes being the lead on grant research, writing and submission.
  • Solicit individual donors through annual campaigns, special events, public speaking and relationship building.
  • Meet all reporting requirements for grants awarded.
  • Maintain a consistent stream of revenues adequate to fund the organization’s ac tivities and programs through cultivation of existing funding sources, diversification of other funding streams and increasing The Neighborhood Center’s donor database.
  • With Board approval, ensure that effective internal financial management systems and controls for the protection of organization assets are established and maintained.
  • Establish and obtain Board approval of annual budget and create and present quarterly budget to actual financial reports to the Board. Work with the Board treasurer to ensure that reports are accurate .
  • Oversee vendor relationships (including bank accounts, copiers, supplies, phones, internet, rent, etc). and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Ensure accounts payable and accounts receivable are current.
  • Manage daily operations and establish written standard procedures.
  • Engage Board members and volunteers in fundraising efforts.

Program Planning and Development

  • Ensure The Neighborhood Center develops and implements an effective, high-quality strategy for services that meet the needs of The Neighborhood Center’s diverse constituents.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of the organization’s programs and identify new opportunities to increase the capacity of the organization in servicing clients.
  • Ensure that program data, including client files, includes data to effectively operate programs, evaluate effectiveness of programs, and meet any reporting requirements of funders.
  • Develop an Annual Work Plan, the Mid-Year Evaluation of the agency's Annual Work

Plan, and the Year-End Evaluation of the agency's Annual Work Plan.

  • Ensure staff development and education.

Community Relations and Advocacy

  • Serve as an effective spokesperson for The Neighborhood Center, representing the programs and point of view of The Neighborhood Center to funders, government entities, community groups and organizations and the general public.
  • Establish sound working relationships and cooperative agreements with community groups and organizations.
  • Collaborate with community residents, nonprofit organizations, government officials, elected representatives, business leaders, and faith communities to accomplish community objectives.
  • Advocate for policies and regulations that reflect the mission and values of The

Neighborhood Center.

  • Educate a specific constituency or the public about a particular issue by overseeing and conducting outreach, writing press releases, utilizing social media, organizing press conferences, and hosting community events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in related field preferred
  • Experience in management, supervision, fund development, contract compliance, and research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Quickbooks
  • Strong community connections in Northampton County and Pennsylvania and willingness to build new relationships.
  • Personal vehicle or access to independent transportation required
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Criminal record check and child abuse clearance required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
