Camp Liberty Inc., a charity that uses outdoor recreation programs to reach Veterans and connect them with resources that can improve their lives, is searching for a part-time Executive Director. This position will coordinate events and outdoor recreation activities including hunting, fishing, and conservation programs. The Executive Director will also perform public relations and administrative duties.

This is a part-time independent contractor position that is expected to be approximately 40 to 60 hours of effort per month. You may set your own hours and work remotely to perform most of these functions. The initial engagement will be for three months with the potential to extend the relationship into the future.

Many of the events will take place at Camp Liberty’s facility located between Manchester and Napoleon. Our business offices are in Ann Arbor. You should live within a reasonable diving distance of both our facility and offices. Having previously served in the U. S. Military and experience in outdoor recreation activities, charitable organizations, and social media platforms are desired. The duties of the person selected for this role will be tailored to their strengths, but potential tasks include:

1. Program Management.

  • Create and coordinate programs and events.
  • Manage event registrations.
  • Coordinate program volunteers and participants.
  • Purchase supplies and coordinate vendors for events.
  • Supervise events.
  • Connect Veterans with support services and resources.

2. Public Relations

  • Create regular Facebook and Instagram posts.
  • Network and communicate with potential program partners.
  • Send regular email communications using Constant Contact or Mail Chimp.
  • Promote and coordinate fundraising opportunities and events.

3. Administrative

  • Seek out and complete grant applications.
  • Organize volunteer and donor contact information and mailing lists.
  • Manage the Facebook page and website.
  • Manage the event calendar.
  • Respond to email and Facebook Messenger communications.
  • Maintain an inventory of assets and supplies.
  • Submit the annual solicitation and corporate registration forms.
