  • Assist development, implementation, and monitor safety programs.

  • Share communications, standards, processes, policies, and procedures.

  • Act as the point of contact for assigned organizations for all work items with safety-related implications.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert related to sprains and strains mitigations, such as ergonomics and well-being.

  • Collaborate with leaders to discuss positive observations, and observations requiring corrective actions and follow up.

  • Attend and participate in meetings to guide decisions and support assigned groups in all matters involving safety, to ensure safety and compliance.

  • Conduct research and provide innovative ideas for developing cost effective solutions and management of safe work practices.

  • Report, investigate, review, and comment on incident documentation to ensure accurate reporting of the incident sequence of events, contributing factors, root cause, and corrective actions.

  • Ensure corrective actions are appropriate, measurable and that adequate oversight is in place to validate continued compliance.

  • Support assigned organizations in the interpretation of Federal, State, local and SCE safety rules, policies, and procedures to provide guidance and ensure compliance and effective application of safe work practices.

  • Acts as lead and subject matter expert for SCE’s comprehensive office and industrial ergonomics sprains & strains management program by developing, designing, and delivering educational content via written communications or presentations; performing ergonomic evaluations for tasks and vehicles, providing body mechanic coaching at field locations, support pre-work warm up programs and other related activities.

  • Participates on organizational committees and supports initiatives related to sprains and strains reductions by regularly appearing before safety teams and congresses to provide guidance on current and pending office and industrial ergonomics requirements, socializing program updates, and participating in organizational injury mitigation initiatives.

  • Acts a key team member for safety incident investigations and corrective action implementation related to musculoskeletal injuries. Recommends approaches to mitigate sprains & strains risks based on incident trends.

  • Provides input and recommendations on the evaluation of work methods and tool/equipment selection to minimize safety risk to office and field workers.

Qualifications


The essentials

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in ergonomics, injury prevention or other safety programs.

  • Specialized knowledge in ergonomics, human factors, human anatomy, and physiology.

  • Knowledge of ergonomic assessments application.

  • Knowledge of injury prevention policies, procedures, and training.

  • Valid Driver’s License

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Occupational Health & Safety, Kinesiology, Physical Education or a related field or comparable certifications.

  • Professional Ergonomics, Health/Wellness, OSHA or equivalent certifications or certificates skills.

  • Experience developing and managing programs and projects.

  • Experience guiding or performing ergonomic assessments.

  • Experience writing or recommending policy, procedures, and training.

You should know

  • When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • Position will require up to 50% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
