The primary responsibilities of a semiconductor equipment engineer are:

  • Specify equipment based on manufacturing, process, safety, and equipment requirements using established manufacturing practices
  • Justify capital investments (obtain quotes and evaluate various supplier offerings based on technology and budget requirements)
  • Manage equipment build projects which include: working with vendors and facilities installation teams; equipment installation, debug, testing, factory integration, and setup
  • Develop and implement equipment lifecycle strategy which include maintenance training, stocking consumables/spares, and preventative maintenance documentation
  • Document safety and maintenance procedures for the equipment, as well as setup and testing documentation.
  • Sustain the manufacturing production line, participate in troubleshooting of equipment issues, and work with equipment and process team on tool improvements.
  • Improve existing equipment and processes to meet changing process requirements and improve manufacturing costs.
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated and exhibit a high-level of interest in understanding and solving complex technical problems.
  • Equipment engineers must have good interpersonal skills and must work well in a team environment.
Qualifications


Essential Responsibilities Include:

As an Equipment Engineer, you are responsible to support the Fab 10 maintenance team. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to:

  • Establishment of the equipment engineering and maintenance-related business processes necessary to run and maintain the tools in production, as well as their documentation according to quality standards.
  • Manage equipment spending to ensure it fits within budget, and work on cost reduction.
  • Work in close collaboration with Process Engineering and Manufacturing teams
  • Engage in knowledge exchange on best-known methods and improvement levers with sister fabs and other modules.
  • Create materials and perform training of equipment technicians working on tools in the area.
  • Ensure close interaction with equipment suppliers. Drive escalations and work together on the resolution of tool issues.
  • Read and interpret tool schematics (electrical, PIDs, utilities diagrams, etc.)
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities on tools and develop solutions for higher throughput and improvement in tool performance.
  • Perform data analysis of recurring and/or chronic issues.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or other related engineering physical science discipline
  • Experience – 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in English Language - written & verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong continuous improvement mindset, permanently driving to identify and eliminate waste and errors in business processes, work procedures and instructions, and work organization
  • Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self-starter
