Job Summary:

The Trainer is responsible for developing and maintaining a clear knowledge of their respective applications, training curriculum, and the workflows associated with their applications. They are responsible for developing and maintaining training materials, as well as building and testing in the training environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Uses understanding of the healthcare space and EHR in order to competently develop training curriculum and facilitate training delivery
  • Analyzes workflow, application dependencies, and user competencies through collaboration with operational end-users, super users, subject matter experts (SME), and analysts to determine learning objectives
  • Works with at the elbow support for go-live and upgrade activities
  • Designs and maintains role-based training materials and scenarios to incorporate best practices based on adult learning principles
  • Translates technical functionality and workflow into easily understood steps. Validates information prior to incorporating into curriculum.
  • Reviews data to determine curriculum modifications that ensure training success. Devises modes of assessment to measure the effectiveness of the course. Facilitates technical training while monitoring and adjusting the approach as necessary to ensure maximum transfer and retention of knowledge among a variety of audiences.
  • Working with Epic representatives, your organization's business community, and end-users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline
  • Serves as an IT/Education liaison for basic functionality questions for implementations and upgrades with a range of customers including business operations, clinical staff, system users and vendors. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies. Able to interact meaningfully with customers, independently, and maintains a positive relationship.
  • Takes ownership of personal growth and stays informed of emerging technologies
  • Troubleshooting problems and questions
  • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
  • Holding weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology, Nursing, Business, Education, or related field is preferred.
  • If applicable, must have necessary clinical licensure required by the State of Louisiana.
  • Previous training experience is required.
  • Experience in clinical and/or financial applications within a healthcare/physician practice environment preferred OR 1-3 years of relevant clinical, business or technical education experience is preferred.
  • Credentialed or Principal Epic Trainer is preferred.
  • Must have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to build relationships across the organization. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are also required.

Full Time; Days

Pay Range:

$63,400 - $91,900
