SUMMARY

Responsible for enhancing the controls to enable facility's expansion with proper planning and management of Security, Environment, Safety, and loss prevention.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Developing and monitoring accident prevention programs, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous safe working conditions
  • Applicable Security, Environment and Safety laws and regulations compliance assurance.
  • Plan and conduct Security and EHS inspections, development, and delivery of regular reports.
  • Manage internal programs: HAZMAT, HAZCOM, SPCC, Hot Work, and LOTO.
  • Investigate accident/injuries utilizing various root causes analysis tools, identifying contributing factors to eliminate hazards and mitigate future risks.
  • Develop and Manage Employee Safety Orientation/Training program.
  • Evaluate significant EHS aspects and associated compliance obligations, risk and opportunities.
  • Establish an effective Environment Management System.
  • Quantify risk and prioritize mitigation funding initiatives.
  • Develop and lead strategic Security and EHS improvement initiatives.
  • Workplace violence prevention
  • Plan and direct effective Emergency Response Plan and Incident Response Process.
  • Manage Fire Program: evacuation drills, fire equipment/extinguisher checks.
  • Minimize risk from extreme weather, natural disasters, and/or human-caused events.
  • Provide a safe workplace using the best mix of personnel and technology.
  • Conduct hazard threat vulnerability and security/risk assessment at the property.
  • Designing and deploying cost-effective solution for safeguarding people and property.
  • Overseas physical security programs, monitor and evaluate the performance and recommend corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Develop asset protection SOPs, training, and awareness programs.
  • Maintains integrity of the loss prevention through unannounced checks of the property to identify areas in need of corrective actions.
  • Collect, analyze, and redistribute intelligence to proactively prepare for and prevent near-miss and loss events.
  • Planning for facility's layout and space utilization
  • Internal collaboration with HR, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Internal Audit, Legal.
  • External collaboration with security service providers, community, law enforcement and other government agencies,
  • Interface with regulatory bodies, to include Fire Marshal, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, Water Authority.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, business and risk management or related discipline.
  • Experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14.001, OSHAS 18001 Standards
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910, Occupational Health and Safety Standards for General Industry
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1904, Recording and Reporting Occupational Injuries and Illnesses.
  • Knowledge of risk-assessment methodology and/or security mitigation strategies, law enforcement protocols and investigation techniques.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
  • Significant interaction with team, some customers and vendors
  • Occasional manual labor that includes lifting, bending and reaching
  • Ability to read, write, listen and speak
