Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes any combination of the following

Provide structure/methodology and leadership to the process for assessing organizational learning and development needs (job/task analysis) and assessing individual learning and development needs. (Individual Performance/Competency Analysis)

Survey Mud Lake/Surface Impoundments and develop monitoring programs.

Conduct daily survey of the facility's water treatment plant compliance activity. Design, coordinate and maintain procedures and systems to investigate, evaluate, monitor, detect, and record occupational, and environmental conditions, liabilities, and exposures.

Respond to inquiries from employees regarding environmental concerns. Conduct comprehensive studies and on-site surveys for recognition and evaluation of various radiological and environmental conditions, including studies of environmental quality and exposures.

Survey, inspect, and evaluate facilities and other physical properties to identify radiological and environmental best practices and concerns.

Prepare special and periodic reports, guidelines, manuals, newsletters, summaries, and bulletins.

Participate in third-party and regulatory inspections, surveys, and audits, interface with federal, state and local agencies.

Develop, coordinate, and conduct radiological, environmental, and technical education and training programs.

Assist in the training and coordination of work of new employees.

Develop, implement, promote, and maintain radiological and environmental programs and projects.

Identify occupational and environmental conditions and recommended preventive and corrective measures.

Provide leadership for design, development, delivery, and tracking of curriculum.

Coordinate enrollment, pre and post communication, and evaluation of learning events.

Assist managers with needs assessment, identification, selection, acquisition, and implementation of appropriate resources to deliver training.

Monitors learning and development system performance and makes improvements on a continuing cycle.

Advise on the purchase of equipment and oversee the routine maintenance and calibration of instruments and devices.

Review plans for construction and renovation of facilities for radiological and environmental concerns and evaluate designed effectiveness.

Assist in the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors.

Participate in emergency response activities.

Comply with all environmental rules and regulations, as well as company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Position Requirements:

  • A Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in environmental projects and programs.
  • Knowledge of environmental or engineering principles, practices, rules, and regulations.
  • Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies during inspections.
  • Moderate computer experience and familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn software programs such as SAP, Intelex, and other environmental, engineering, and risk management information systems.

Experience

Preferred
  • Some college plus more than 3 years of environmental experience in a ore processing facility.

Education

Preferred
  • High School or better
