Performs technical paraprofessional civil engineering and supervisory work in the field and in the office for the Department of Public Utilties; does related work as required.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering; knowledge of all types of building and utility construction practices and methods; ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications; considerable knowledge of County building and utility codes and of State codes; ability to perform engineering work of average complexity; ability to prepare detailed design plans and to prepare engineering specifications; ability to work effectively with and to develop good public relations with engineers and architects; ability to plan and supervise the work of employees; physical condition that permits such activities as occasional work under adverse temperatures and/or weather conditions.

Possession of a two (2)-year associate's degree in a related engineering discipline and three (3) years of related paraprofessional engineering experience; OR , any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
