Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Emergency Vehicle Technician I on a Government contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX.

Position Responsibilities:

A certified Level I Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT), performs routine maintenance and repair of all Fort Bliss Fire Department vehicles and equipment including comprehensive fire apparatus repairs, diesel engine repairs, rebuild fire pumps, brake system repairs, electrical system diagnostic and repair, and hydraulic repairs. Inspect components for serviceability; responsible for diagnosing faults and malfunctions that are identified as unserviceable or incorrect from normal operational conditions. Inspect specialized equipment on the vehicles, such as hoses and fire extinguishers, and maintain documentation of their repair action in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Must have the appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) certifications and Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certifications for fire apparatus technician applicable to level one. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to include maintenance and repairs on nonfirefighting vehicles and equipment

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must possess a current Level I EVT (Apparatus) Certification.
  • Must have at the time of offer, documentations indicating proof of certifications for the following EVT exams: Inspection, Maintenance & Testing of Fire Apparatus (F1) and Design & Performance of Fire Apparatus (F2).
  • Must have at the time of offer, documentations indicating proof of certifications for the following ASE certifications: Truck Brakes (T4) and Truck, Suspension and Steering (T5).
  • Required to keep all EVT and ASE certifications current throughout employment. Expired certifications result in termination of the EVT Level I pay rate.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the legal operation of fire apparatus; requirements of NFPA1911, federal and state regulations; and record-keeping requirements.
  • Must have intimate knowledge of all fire apparatus and how the various systems operate.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 50 pounds or more using a two-person lift, with frequent or constant lifting of 49 pounds or less individually.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI.
