Emergency Department Mental Health Technician (NA I Required) Job at Nash UNC Health Care
The Mental Health Technician provides personal care and basic nursing care to patients assigned to the unit, under the direct supervision of the RN Team Leader. Incumbents are expected to perform all selected procedures for the Nursing Assistant I, as authorized by the Division of Health and Human Service Regulation. The Technician participates in therapeutic treatment planning and group therapy meetings. The Technician must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the relationship of each individual’s physical status to the dependence, and other addictive behaviors, the nature of the emotional compulsion and of the intensity of the individual’s mental preoccupation with using alcohol and/or other drugs. This knowledge will allow for input into the development of the individual’s treatment plan.
Education, Licensure, Experience, and Other Requirements:
- Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant I course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Current listing with the NC Division of Health & Human Service Regulation Health Care Personnel

Current NC Driver's License and meets insurance requirements to drive hospital-owned vehicles.

Current BCLS certification.

CPI certification required within 90-days of starting to the unit.

Schedule: Full Time, Nights, 7p - 7a EOW
