Simmers Crane Design & Servicesis seeking a qualified individual to join our tight-knit design team. Located in Rock Island IL, we currently support some of the world's largest manufacturers in the agriculture, steel, aluminum, energy, forestry, construction and other heavy industries. Our engineers and designers are responsible for developing creative material handling solutions and other engineered components. As a member of our engineering team, you will manage projects from concept to completion by directly overseeing every aspect of them. This will all happen while working directly with clients to ensure their needs and timeline are met in a detailed and professional manner. This position is very engaging and hands on.

Job Responsibilities:

• Proficient with AC/DC motor controls-magnetic, variable frequency drives and flux vector
• Design and create interconnection diagrams
• Knowledgeable in sizing conduit, wires and terminations
• Conducts tests on products and equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Troubleshooting and analysis of problems
• Ability to collect data and analyze it
• Identify and implement efficient paths of action to finish the assigned work
• Able to test, calibrate, diagnose and repair various devises
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Must be able to understand and follow applicable codes and standards
• Inspect and prepare proper documentation reports and related job data
• The ability to understand and manage a project’s budget

What you bring to the table: * A minimum of an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred

• At least 2- 3 years in a technical or industrial environment or similar Military Experience.
• Team approach to problem solving
• Strong skills in communication and customer service
• Computer literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Must be eligible to work and free of any non-competition agreements.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Ability to interface with internal and external customers
• Ability to work inside, outside in all types of weather, and work from heights
