Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire an experienced full-time Dual Diagnosis Counselor with behavioral health experience to provide counseling and support services to patients who are recovering or rehabilitating from mental health and substance abuse issues.

Silver Lake Hospital's brand-new state of the art inpatient dual diagnosis program provides inpatient treatment for adults who experience acute mental health symptoms and substance use.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dual Diagnosis Counselor provides individual or group therapy, and may share coping strategies and mental health techniques to help the individual better manage their mental health or substance abuse challenges. Will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based individual, family and group psychotherapy and discharge planning for adult dual diagnosis patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in mental health/social services/psychology or related field. Master's preferred.
• Valid NJ LCADC, LPC, and/or LSW preferred.
• (1) year experience in a behavioral health setting is required.
• Certifications in Mental Health/Psychology/Substance Abuse preferred.
• Demonstrates a commitment to service and professionalism at all times.

• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with others.
• Skills required: Critical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, organizational.
• Ability to prioritize.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to relate well to patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR Systems.
