Driver (Part-Time)
EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 54,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Driver to work part -time for its Home Delivered Meals program.
The Driver position is a non-exempt position paying $18.54 per hour for a work schedule of up to 20 hours per week. The role reports to Center Manager.
Primary Purpose of Job:
The Driver is responsible picking up food at the Point Lookout site and delivering meals to homebound senior citizens.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver meals to homebound clients up to five days a week
- Record initial temperatures and last delivery temperature on temperature sheets report any problems to Supervisor.
- Understand and abide by food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Always adhere to social distancing and wear masks and gloves when picking up & delivering food
- Return all paperwork at end of route, inform program when client is not home & note on route sheet
- Return frozen/chilled meals to site at end of route.
- Maintain program vehicle and inform Supervisor of any mechanical problems
- Adhere to all safety rules of the road and exercise appropriate driving judgment.
- May be required to assist at another EAC Senior Program location during normal working hours.
- Perform all other relevant duties as assigned by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Valid NYS Driver’s License, with no record of suspensions and access to automobile required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to lift up to 20-50 lbs. when needed
- Ability to use/follow GPS.
- Ability to drive company vehicle
- Minimum of one year of driving and customer service/human service experience required.
- Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of the homebound elderly.
- Ability to use smart device to enter attendance on online Information System.
