POSITION TITLE: Customer Service Representative I JOB GRADE: CSR-1


REPORTS TO: LOCATION: CBTx San Augustine, TX

JOB SUMMARY:


Meets customer expectations of service and professionalism while assisting in a variety of basic customer checking, savings, and credit account transactions, as well as customer services such as sales of cashier's checks, CBTx gift cards, and money orders. Good interpersonal communication skills with other employees and thorough knowledge of all CBTx teller functions.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Recognizes and addresses customers by name when possible. Listens carefully to customer requests, comments or complaints and responds appropriately in accordance with CBTx procedures.


2.Provides customers with basic account information such as balance or status. Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters transactions into computer records in an accurate, prompt and efficient manner.


  • Be flexible in work schedule when branch is lightly staffed due to vacations or sickness. There may also be a need to travel to another branch to help when staffing is low.

  • Receives mortgage, consumer loan and other payments, inspects negotiable instruments and cash offered for payment and ensures that payments match balances due, enters payments received into CBTx computer records and generates customer receipts.

  • Sells cashier checks, official checks, CBTx gift cards, CBTx travel cards and money orders.

  • Maintains cash supply within prescribed limits, buys/sells money from vault or other tellers using cash in and cash out tickets as necessary, counts, checks, rolls coin and straps currency.

  • Balances cash drawer before going to lunch, and at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to electronic journal on DCI. Reports any discrepancies to his or her supervisor as necessary.

  • Places holds on deposited items for uncollected funds and prepares CBTx Notice of Delayed Availability in accordance with CBTx procedures.

  • Processes mailed transactions and night deposit functions where available.

  • Inspects work area and equipment and insures it is neat, safe and professional in appearance. Corrects or notifies supervisor about any malfunctioning equipment or unsafe conditions.

  • Dresses appropriately for work environment, adhering to CBTx's dress policy.

  • Avoids improper business etiquette such as gum chewing, rude facial gestures, and improper behavior in dealing with customers.

  • Is familiar with and knows how to navigate DCI Teller, iCore, the Campus, AFS Image Depot and Branch Capture or other computer software as needed.

  • Knows where to find and relay information about CBTx services such as savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and overdraft privilege features. Refers customers to other services that CBTx offers including insurance, loans, trust, merchant services, etc.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
