We are currently looking for a District Receptionist to join our Central Office Team located in Oak Cliff. If the following opportunity sounds like the right fit for you, please apply.


Primary Purpose:

Support students, families, and team members by providing excellent customer service and serving as the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors and phone inquiries. The receptionist focuses primarily on ensuring parent satisfaction and ensuring families’ needs are met by sharing information, coordinating with other team members, and greeting all visitors entering the Administration building. Serve as the primary phone operator for the district and provide general office assistance such as putting up the main, contacting custodial as needed and utilizing Raptor for visitor identification.


Qualifications:


Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Some college preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred


Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Handle multiple telephone lines
  • Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
  • Customer service skills


  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills


  • Ability to use personal computer for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to perform basic math/accounting calculations


Experience:

  • At least one year of customer service environment. Clerical/Administrative experience in educational preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in directing callers and visitors to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in directing visitors attending meetings and trainings.
  • Ensure each visitor has the appropriate credentials to enter district site.
  • How a good working knowledge of the district and information on the district’s website to direct inquires on where the information can be found.
  • Assist in determining information that needs to be more accessible based on calls and questions.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain district employee directory.
  • Responsible for coordinating the mail schedule. Sort and distribute mail. Process mail invoices.
  • Assist with ordering department supplies, processing purchase orders and creating requisitions, as needed.
  • Organize essential forms, documents and informational packets for families inquiring about enrollment.
  • Review InfoSnap (Enrollment system) and provide parents, students feedback on next steps regarding enrollment.
  • Create and provide weekly reports regarding enrollment to campuses.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist in the maintenance and update of the Human Resources website.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Personal computer, scanner, printer, copier, fax machine, and calculator and other equipment.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Prolonged use of the computer and other office equipment. May require frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching. Occasional lifting and moving of moderate to heavy objects. Repetitive hand motions.
