Job Summary
Under general supervision; receives and dispatches routine and emergency calls for police, medical and other Public Safety Agencies as designated.
Responsibilities
Perform routine emergency communications and dispatch duties, receives and coordinates non-emergency and emergency requests for the University of Utah Police Department and Campus Security. Access and correlate information from the Utah Criminal Justice Information System (UCJIS). Operate a variety of equipment including computer aided dispatch (CAD), digital two-way radios systems, 9-1-1 and campus telephone systems, campus alarm systems, CCTV, and other departmental office equipment. And, other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
18 years old.
High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
Type 40 WPM.
Legal to work in the United States.
No disqualifying criminal history.
Must obtained and be current on all EMD, CPR, BCI, POST Certifications, ICS 100, 200, 700, 800.
Must have worked as a 911 Dispatcher or a Dispatcher I for at least 1 professional year.
Must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Police, Medical and Security duties.
Will work rotating shifts and hours, and work weekends and holidays.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Must obtain and remain current on all EMD, CPR, BCI, POST Certifications, APCO PST, and ICS (100, 200, 700, 800). 1 to 3+ years of experience as a 911 dispatcher. Able to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Police, Medical and Security dispatch duties.
