Requirements:
The Dispatcher will plan, direct, and administer company transportation policy, while coordinating the logistics of commodities and feed ingredients. This position will report to the Idaho Transportation Manager.
Position Responsibilities: The Dispatcher will perform the following duties and additional projects or duties may be assigned:
- Develop programs and procedures for efficient flow of products in and out of customers and suppliers to J.D. Heiskell feed mills and end users.
- Manage and direct internal and external truck drivers through accountability, team work, and structure.
- Set rates and market zones, communicate with staff accountants and merchandisers that assist with transportation and logistics.
- Work closely with internal department heads for efficient operation and communication, providing the best customer service possible.
- Submit recommendations for development of company policies, procedures, and compliance with various State and Federal transportation laws and regulations.
- Conduct continuous analyses of freight lanes and scheduling to maximize efficiency and lower freight costs.
- Continuously work to expand the J.D. Heiskell carrier base in order to better serve our customers and feed mills.
- Work with management at local J.D. Heiskell feed mills to coordinate ingredient orders.
- Obtain insurance documentation and transportation service agreements from carriers.

- Agricultural background preferred
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in truck fleet dispatching preferred
- Thorough knowledge of Federal and State transportation laws, regulations and compliance
- Strong customer service commitment and good written and verbal communication skills
- Mathematical and analytical skills essential
