Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced, high-energy sales leader with a proven track record of motivating and encouraging sales teams to deliver results while transforming to meet market demands! This position will be accountable for implementing the trade sales vision and strategy in the West Region, delivering profitable above-market sales growth with margin expansion within budget. This position will work collaboratively across channels to achieve breakthrough performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional sales teams to improve manufacturer representative sales and engagement, increase customer satisfaction, market penetration and growth.
  • Identify and cultivate areas of new business within the channel to further expand business in new market segments while assessing the impact on other channels.
  • Analyze and make recommendations on customer programs to optimize revenue, profitability, and market share for the trade channel – driven by quarterly KPI and SGI tracking with the agencies.
  • Initiate, strengthen and grow direct relationships with major customers in the channel.
  • Lead the transformation of the agencies and trade channel to succeed in an omnichannel environment.
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to provide an aligned regional sales plan to meet the needs of wholesalers, trade decision makers and influencers while meeting the trade channel sales and profit goals.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related area; Masters preferred
  • 10+ years of proven sales, leadership and P&L management experience
  • Proven success developing new profitable business within building products industry.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with the independent manufacturer’s representative agency business model.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with external partners and customers.
  • Proven analytical skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports & deriving insights from data.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation and problem-solving skills and the ability to interact with customers at all levels of the customer organization.
  • Creative problem-solver and be able to challenge the status quo to drive action.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel domestically (50% of the time)
