The Director, Sales Retail & E-commerce leads the Mass and E-Commerce sales channel(s). Specifically, this position focuses on the management and development of the entire Mass/E-Commerce sales group. This role collaborates closely with the Division Head along with other senior group members to develop, implement and execute channel strategies, product launches, and marketing plan execution. Additional critical focus areas for this position include but are not limited to: Business Insights & Analytics, Sales Strategy and Planning, Forecasting, Channel/Partner Management at a national level, Growth and Maintenance of relationships with distribution partners. This position also maintains consistent communication with Division Head, Senior Director of Marketing, HAD/TN Operations, Finance, Shared Services and Supply Chain Management to sustain proper account maintenance and forecast needs.Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
Oversee revenue budget responsibility, driving success and growth throughout the HAD sales team
Lead the day-to-day activities of the domestic HAD Retail / E-Commerce sales team, account management, developing opportunities nationwide; manage daily communications and ensure team success
Build a strong team through ongoing feedback, support, and guidance with the goal of facilitating both business and personal growth; set realistic goals and establish expectations; help team members improve sales and work quality
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, leading across the organization on key initiatives
Develop, review, monitor, and enforce policies, practices, and procedures that impact the organization
Consistently contribute strategic ideas and feedback to executive team
Meet and exceed customer expectations and demands
Significant travel (up to 50%) required to accounts and headquarters location
Sales Strategy Development
Develop the overall sales strategy for the HAD Retail / E-Commerce sales force, ensuring corporate financial goals are met or exceeded
Spearhead new business opportunities and utilize creativity to grow the business and profitability
Analyze business trends and understand the customer base, both regionally and nationally, to support effective strategy development
Study historical sales data, establish sales quotas, and plan future sales targets
Stay current on industry news and changes as well as competitive models and features
Track actual performance against expectations and modify strategies, territories, or incentive plans in response
Reporting, Budgeting, & Forecasting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for various internal groups
Prepare and deliver presentations for various regional and global meetings
Lead team to manage product forecasting & supply chain activity
Lead team to manage custom SKU requests as opportunities arrive
Additional Position Responsibilities
Overall management of staff, ensuring assignments and duties are completed as required
Compose and conduct performance reviews
Provide guidance, training, mentoring, coaching and development
Make recommendations regarding hiring, promoting and terminating
Perform in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable federal/state/local regulations and guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, or related field
Experience
Minimum 10 years
Experience managing national sales function in the Retail & E-Commerce channel
Experience developing and executing on robust sales strategies
Experience meeting and exceeding multi-million sales targets
Experience leading and managing a team
Software/Technical Skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Strong ability to strategically analyze data, think and execute on long-term action plans
Strong aptitude for crafting creative strategies to achieve business growth and divisional profit
Knowledge in all aspects of sales management, including but not limited to: forecasting, goal setting, team planning, account mapping, resource management, time management, selling to the relevant executive, conducting executive briefings
Strong communication skills (written/verbal/interpersonal) and ability to build relationships internally and externally
Strong ability to deliver effective presentations Ability to lead, develop and mentor others
Excellent negotiation skills
Knowledge of the sewing and crafting industry
