Scope of Responsibilities:

The Director of Audiovisual Technology reporting to the Director of Information
Technology, is responsible for the planning, directing, and operation of all audiovisual (AV) needs for the campus. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Direct oversight of campus-wide audiovisual design and implementation
  • Management of all internal and external event AV production
  • Supervision of all part-time, on-call, and student and on-call AV techs
  • Contracting with external vendors as needed

This role will collaborate closely with various campus departments including Special

Events, Athletics, Chapel, and Academics on audiovisual needs. Based on available techs, this role could include hours outside of a general office schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Essential Responsibilities:

● Ownership and operation of all AV equipment including, including audio mixer consoles (digital and analog), video switching devices, video cameras, desktop and laptop computers (Mac and PC), livestream equipment, computer programs, lighting equipment, lighting programs, and presentation programs.

● Oversee AV design and utilization on the campus along with the implementation of AV equipment, process, and procedures.

● Demonstrate an expertise in the fundamentals of live sound (audio) reinforcement and/or video production.

● Work with the IT Helpdesk in supporting classroom technology design and implementation.

● Manage setup, tear down, power up, and power down functions for all AV equipment.
● Must have the strong ability to multitask, and operate under pressure.

● Must possess astute problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve
AV problems and issues.

● Must be on-time, dependable, and finish all details until tasks are complete.

● Must exercise good judgment.
● Must possess a keen awareness of the positive and negative impacts that audiovisual technical aspects can have on an event.
● Other essential duties as directed by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
● Hire, train, coach, and discipline, when necessary, all part-time, on-call, and student audiovisual technicians.

Job Requirements:

A. General: Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations in order to safely perform the essential responsibilities of the job.
B. Physical: Should be able to perform the following and similar physical demands in completing work tasks: walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, pushing, feeling, crawling, crouching, lifting, pulling, standing, kneeling, carrying, handling, talking, hearing, seeing, sitting, fingering. Able to regularly lift up to 50lbs. Must have sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate equipment including, but not limited to: computers, keyboards, mice, touch screens, push buttons, stylus, and remote controls.
C. Mental: Must be able to reason, analyze, prioritize, conceptualize, make judgments, and solve problems.

Qualifications:

A. Minimum:
1. Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training.

2. 3 years work experience in audiovisual production.
3. Strong interpersonal skills.

4. Strong Christian faith, commitment and volunteer service experience.

B. Preferred:

1. 5+ years of work experience in audiovisual production.

2. Work related audiovisual technical director or similar experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
