Director of Strategic Initiatives and Assessment
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Director of Strategic Initiatives and Assessment in Student Affairs. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the director partners with the divisional directors, campus community and the Student Affairs Leadership Team to lead a culture of assessment and improvement in which units undertake regular program evaluation and data analysis and engage in alignment with strategic priorities. The director will enhance divisional effectiveness by leading, developing, implementing, and managing assessment, evaluation, and planning processes and infrastructures; and by providing data analysis, program assessment, and strategic planning support for all units within the Division. The individual will help to support data-informed decision-making related to the continuous improvement of programs, service delivery, and campus climate. The director drives the leadership and project management of strategic initiatives, and works on a range of issues focused on advancing the work critical to the success of Student Affairs and performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Qualifications: A master’s degree in education and five (5) years’ work experience in a student affairs setting is required. A Ph.D, Ed.D. in education is preferred.

Student Services Manager II (CB80/61123201/FTE-S00748P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 07. Salary range: $52,357.00 (minimum) – $74,613.00 (midpoint). Salary commensurate with education and experience. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Required Qualifications

  • Develop, implement and track project plans, including monitoring project scope, schedule, timeline, identifying and reporting issues and performing evaluation and analysis.
  • Consistently demonstrate effective leadership, solid judgement and achievement of project outcomes to enhance effectiveness of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the design and development of project knowledge resources (e.g. databases, documentation, policies and procedures).
  • Develop reports and presentations for internal and external audiences while maintaining positive and effective relations.
  • Provide communication and follow up to faculty, staff, program/project members and senior leadership.
  • Manage a high volume of work ensuring continuity and successful delivery of service.
  • Utilize creative problem solving in a variety of situations through strong written and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Provide support and professional development to programs to build capacity in all areas of programmatic assessment and that fosters a culture of continuous improvement in a collaborative manner.
