This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a dynamic Finance department.

The Director of Operational Accounting is the first line of internal control to ensure transactions are being monitored for issues as they occur. This position is an integral part of managing the Company’s month-end close process for all entities, month-end close reconciliations, year-end financial statements (including consolidated), and footnotes, including compiling special reports and analyses involving financial data.

Essential Job Functions include:

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to review and perform technical analysis on existing and new contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition, which will require in-depth research and technical documentation.
• Research and document company positions relating to revenue recognition interpretations and applications.
• Assess and ensure compliance of all revenue systems and processes to maintain integrity and adherence to internal controls, GAAP, and non-GAAP.
• Must have a thorough understanding of GAAP & FASB. Develop, maintain and update revenue accounting procedures and manuals.
• Establish and maintain insightful sales reports/dashboards for variances, strategic analyses for review by AVP.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (Master’s preferred)
• 7+ years of experience in the accounting field, with experience in relevant revenue recognition field (Health, Grants, and non -profits preferred)
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience with an ERP system
• Experience writing technical accounting memoranda/position papers
• Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with competing priorities under a tight deadline
• Previous supervisory experience
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to research, synthesize information, formulate conclusions, and document them in a thorough, yet concise manner.
