We are looking to bring on an Director of Game Entertainment & DJ who will be the ultimate hype man/woman to keep our crowd energized! Your input and assistance will be requested in all aspects of gameday, including themes, music, setup, front gates, group outings, and fan contests. This is a great opportunity to bolster the resume and get some important sport related entertainment experience!

Responsibilities include:

• Captivate our crowds with engaging cheers/chants, music, and announcing fan contests
• Communicate with the PA Announcer in the booth to script who will be on the loudspeakers at a given time
• Prepare playlists and remotely control music on loudspeakers while overseeing entertainment activations on field
• Plan and coordinate fan contests
• Oversee prizes launched into the grandstand using t-shirt launcher, slingshot, or thrown
• Deliver unforgettable experiences with your talent!

• Work with gameday planning staff to create ideas for unique game night promotions and entry giveaways
• Perform game night responsibilities as assigned including entertaining clients and fulfilling group events while assisting in game setup
• Represent team at community events throughout the year and actively assist in grassroots marketing efforts to build fanbase
• Provide outstanding customer service to Chicago Union fans

The qualified candidate should have:

• Bachelors Degree (recommended) in business, sports management, marketing or related field
• 1-3 years of prior DJ, MC, or announcing experience
• Passion for the game of ultimate and a desire to help generate awareness about the sport throughout greater Chicagoland

Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent oral communication and writing skills, and friendly in-person and on-phone demeanor
• Understanding of and willingness to contribute to a startup environment
• Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance
• Previous sports entertainment, MC, radio broadcasting, acting/performance, or wedding related experience is a major plus but is not required as we are willing to train the right person
• Must be professional, punctual, reliable and detail orientated
• Must be knowledgeable in all types of entertainment and music

• Ability to work traditional and non-traditional hours. This will include some weekends and holidays. This includes all home games plus special events and community appearances
• Demonstrated proficiency in Google Suite including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides

The Director of Game Entertainment & DJ is a paid part-time contract position and will likely require less than 5 hours per week on average between January and July. Must be able to get to Chicago regularly for games on weekends.

Pay: $45.00 - $75.00 per hour
