Job Summary


Provide leadership and direction in all aspects of Facilities Operations, including fiscal control, strategic planning and customer-focused programs for the Savannah and Hinesville campuses of Georgia Southern University. Oversee overall operations of unit(s) reporting to this position: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Grounds, and a Custodial third party contractor. Guide multifunctional unit as a collaborative group of departments which provide streamlined and efficient building operations for current and future University physical plant.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effect changes required for improvement
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for Institution and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses
  • Recommend and develop University and department policies and procedures in conjunction with University planning and policy-making committees
  • Represent University to various institutional divisions as well as externally to governmental agencies, vendors, students and their parents, and/or the general public
  • Partner with the Director of Facilities Planning, Design & Construction, in planning and construction of all new buildings and major renovation and repair of existing facilities
  • Design, establish, and maintain staffing and an organizational structure to effectively accomplish department function
  • Recruit, employ, supervise and evaluate departmental team members
  • Direct implementation of management development, skills training, and safety and labor relations programs
  • Coordinate with other University entities initiatives/programs regarding affirmative action and equal opportunity
  • Assist administration in allocating fiscal resources for various capital improvement and maintenance projects for the Savannah and Hinesville campuses
  • Work closely with the Directors of Custodial & Landscape, Maintenance Operations and the future position of Assistant Vice President for Facilities Operations to ensure consistency in service delivery, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience

  • Higher education experience
  • Proven supervisory experience

Proposed Salary


$76,500 - $97,900

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
