About the Emergency Department:

Spencer Hospital's Emergency Department consists of on-site physicians and nurses along with support technicians within the department - ancillary staff are available to perform tests such as lab draws, radiology, EGKs and respiratory therapy proceedures when needed. Additionally, Spencer Hosptial Ambulance is hospital based crew working closely together to provide services needed thought hospital and Clay County.

Plus exciting news ahead - currently breaking ground on a brand new emergency department along with ambulance garages to be completed in 2024!

Requirements:

  • 3 years experience in emergency services experience required.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Minimum of Bachelors of Science degree and/or past experience commensurate with area of responsibility.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to motivate and lead staff.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience in project development.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading, organizing, and developing the people and programs in areas of responsibility to accomplish the goals and mission of the organization and to assure that Spencer Hospital remains as a leader in regional health care delivery.
  • Functions as team member, communicates relevant information regarding operations of assigned units to assure success of the divisional and departmental planning process and to create a caring and productive environment centered around the health care customer.
  • Responsible for providing leadership, motivation, and guidance to assure the development of excellence in patient care. Has daily contact with staff; responding to situations or problems counseling, and guiding their activities and assisting in the decision making process.
  • Responsible for management of the patient care services offered in their assigned areas and for carrying out the philosophy and objectives established by the hospital.
  • Is a member of the Patient Care Administration team and assists with the formulation and direction of the hospital’s short and long range goals. Assists in the development and attainment of Patient Care Services goals by promoting the development, implementation, and attainment of departmental goals and approved policies and projects so as to improve quality, availability, and accessibility of services and to contain or reduce costs.
  • Revises, recommends approval, implements, and monitors unit operating and capital budgets to insure the sound fiscal operation of the department and organization.
  • Responsible for reviewing, reporting and adjusting practices and policy in areas under his/her jurisdiction in order to meet necessary standards, recommendations or requirements for certification, licensure or accreditation by recognized voluntary and governmental agencies and for compliance with the law.

Schedule:

  • 80+ hours a pay period. Salaried. Typically M-F. Must be willing to work the floor in times of need.
  • The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $88,900.00 - $132,000.00 per year
