Job Summary

The Director of Compensation Strategy & Programs is the leader of the strategy, design, and analysis of compensation programs and practices for The Heritage Group. This individual leads discussions with key stakeholders and partners to define and refine compensation strategies and programs to support business objectives and elevate the employee experience for THG.

This position is located in Indianapolis, IN. Qualified candidates must be located within the Indianapolis area or be willing to relocate.

Strategic Perspective

  • Drive the multi-year evolution of The Heritage Group's compensation strategy in support of our business & talent strategies
  • Serve as a strategic consulting partner to THG operating companies, partnering with HR and business leadership teams to define the compensation approach within each division
  • Continually assess the company's compensation programs and practices, ensuring the organization is current with all regulatory compliance requirements and programs are aligned with the competitive market
  • Contributes toward progress on the total rewards strategy as it relates to compensation and ensures alignment with the overall total rewards strategy
  • Builds stakeholder support via relationships, transparency, and personal credibility
  • Drive/support compensation-related initiatives as appropriate and provide compensation expertise as the divisions require
  • Partner with Finance on the strategy of executive compensation programs

Leadership

  • Leads the Compensation team
  • Participates in the total rewards leadership team
  • Oversees compensation vendor relationships and negotiation of contracts
  • Shares technical expertise and coaches others
  • Maintains confidentiality and the highest degree of integrity
  • Exhibits behaviors in alignment with THG's organizational cultures and values

Administration

  • Incorporates total rewards strategy into current state, offerings of tools and vendors; identifies opportunities and action items to improve outcomes consistent with strategy
  • Oversee the annual compensation planning process for THG Corporate
  • Direct activities related to compensation survey participation, market analysis, trends, and practices, and evaluate the organization's market competitiveness
  • Sets expectations for efficiency and quality of processes and procedures
  • Develops measurement strategy including KPIs and quality
  • Supports due diligence of new mergers and acquisitions related compensation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, or related field
  • Requires 7-10 years of experience, knowledge, understanding in the design, development & administration of compensation programs
  • Experience partnering with Finance on executive compensation a plus
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) a plus
