The position is eligible for remote employment, it will exclude the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The Director of Content Services will execute on strategies to create efficiencies within our workflows. Primarily responsible for managing workflows and people within pre-production, production, design, and art teams, this role will be focused on ensuring customer needs are met throughout each step of the editorial and production process. The Director of Content Services is responsible for contributing to and executing on the strategic vision for custom publishing. Financially responsible for budgets within the content services team, the content services director is responsible for creating and managing budgets for freelance support during peak seasons, software budgets, and production budgets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with key leadership with Custom publishing and Macmillan Learning to develop and execute on strategic vision for original content custom publishing.
  • Identify and execute efficiencies in workflows and systems to reduce the turn around time from customer submission of manuscript to final delivery of product to customer. Documentation of workflows and maintenance of workflow documentation is a key responsibility of the director of content services.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to maintain content in CMS DAM, manage and curate the existing content collection identifying content that should be surfaced to instructors that meets our accuracy, DEI, and accessibility standards. Create and maintain curated courses in Achieve or other content surfacing platform for customer use.
  • Manage and lead the Original Custom Content Services team, providing clear strategic direction and role responsibilities to deliver content at budget and on deadline. Will be required to hire, train, and provide feedback to team members to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent operational and project management skills
  • Experience with content management systems and asset management systems
  • Negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, communication, and management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of publishing processes and systems
  • Product or content background
  • Ability to conduct market research and evaluate data to identify market trends
  • Experience with JIRA or other project management software

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000/year.
