Digital Commerce Search Manager

eCommerce has been identified as one of our key transformational strategic choices for Mars Wrigley with an accelerated growth ambition for MW US. With no 2 customer algorithms the same, and over 150 million monthly confectionery searches on retailer platforms, this role will play a critical role in winning the algorithm & delivering this ambition by focusing on 3 critical areas:

  • Lead the Customer Search Strategy working closely with shopper marketing, global & national media teams to deliver 2023 vision & ambition

  • Accelerate onsite retailer search & content - SEO ‘Code & Theory’ vs. each retailer algorithm driving strategic execution and Perfect Position & Perfect Page optimization retailer by retailer to win the algorithm

  • Lead search optimized content creation across retailer’s product detail pages in partnership with MW Digital Hive (Internal Creative Agency), In-house Digital Merchandisers & external agency partners

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ years’ experience devising and executing customer-centric plans & strategies ideally focused on omnichannel retail that incorporate capabilities across talent, tools & technology

  • Experience with digital commerce and search engine optimization (SEO) strategies

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Customer Search Strategy - Lead overall SEO Workstream managing search governance process & leading sales search team to deliver on timelines & 2023 search ambition + drive connection with Global, Digital Technologies and other Mars Business Units to ensure sharing & implementing best practices & automation.

  • Organic Onsite Search Strategy - Lead Organic Onsite (Retailer) Search Vision, Strategy & Execution (in partnership with Digital Hive & Digital Merchandisers) for top 10 B&C customers and lead retailer specific action planning to close gaps in SoS.

  • Onsite Keyword Strategy - Own refreshes of short tail & long tail branded and generic must-win keywords for everyday and seasonal & quarterly reviews of keyword trends. Partner with Shopper marketing to set targets by keyword & define/implement strategies for winning each keyword by retailer.

  • Perfect Digital Store (PDS) Content Strategy & Content Planning/Approval - Partner with Hive & Digital Merchandisers to close content gaps (ATF, BTF, Video, R&R, Basic Content) across full portfolio & deliver BIC highly converting content. Responsible for Mobile Image rollout & content feedback, B&C Ratings & Reviews, agency management (Syndigo, BazaarVoice, OneSpace, Merchant Words), and shifting content ownership to Brand/Hive.

  • Automated Search Tools - Partner with Digital Technologies to create & rollout “automated” search tools to streamline PDS search actions, build out the PDS 2.0 Attribution Model across top 10 retailers and execute organic search test & learns for seasons & everyday across top 10 retailers.

  • Building Digitally Strong Associates - Build the digital muscle across the organization through the creation of organic search playbook & creation/facilitation of organic search trainings to Demand associates.

  • Onsite Organic Search & Content Learning Plan – Define & execute content & organic search test & learns in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
