OVERVIEW

The Dietary Aide ensures that the resident meals are properly prepared and apportioned according to the resident’s diet specifications, facility procedures, and prescribed dietary and sanitary regulations.

Educational/Training Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Licensing Requirements

• Texas Food Handler Certificate is preferred

Experience Requirements

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods
• Knowledge of Universal Precautions and rules that govern hazardous waste
• Previous experience in skilled nursing facility is preferred
• Ability to follow oral and written directions
