How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The DMS Product Line Specialist is a full-time position that will be responsible for managing selected engine and airframe assets. The jobs functions include asset modeling, inventory analysis to establish market values, inventory repair investment, sourcing, and the purchasing of assets and inventories to support both internal and external component material demands.

Scope of responsibilities includes; This position required strong technical and commercial knowledge of engine components, repairs, and current market values with an understanding of the used serviceable aftermarket. This includes the ability to manage relationships with Delta Air Lines internal customers and external aftermarket customers in a collaborative environment the ideal candidate is analytical with experience in financial analysis.

Primary Functions
  • Gather market intelligence on inventory and repair pricing; ensuring data is captured within the DMS CRM system.
  • Identify future material demand requirements for Delta Airlines and the global aftermarket.
  • Assist in the identification and procurement of whole assets and engine inventories to meet internal and external demand signals.
  • Maintain existing engine part-out models.
  • Provide guidance and pricing methodology for whole asset and component acquisitions in support of DMS Sales Team activities.
  • Consistent inventory review and valuations to support inventory turnover goals.
  • Source and identify engine components for repair that maximizes financial returns.
  • Expand the existing trading relationships with Delta Airlines, external airlines, MROs, and OEMs.
  • Deliver cost savings and value-added solutions to reduce Delta Air Lines related to overall material cost expenditures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Experience with and the understanding of the technical aspects of engines and associated support data to conduct thorough research and analysis.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a material supply chain discipline such as procurement, repairs, pricing, or related fields
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving, analytical skills, and data analysis
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree preferred, preferably in Business, Finance/Accounting, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management.
  • Proficient in the use of SAP, MS Office, Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and relationship-building skills are required.
