Day Porter/Commercial Cleaning/Groundskeeper (Ridgeland, MS) – Full-time

Position Overview

Commercial Real Estate/Property Management firm in Ridgeland, MS is seeking candidates for the position of Day Porter/Commercial Cleaning/Groundskeeper as part of the property management team. The primary responsibilities of the position involve the upkeep of the property in order to enhance and maintain curb appeal. This position will also assist the rest of the staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner. Must have strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Inspect the property on a frequent basis to ensure that buildings and grounds are kept clean to maintain a first-class appearance. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Keeping all parking lots, sidewalks and building exteriors clean and presentable
  • Inspecting building interiors and restrooms periodically to escalate issues to the maintenance team
  • Inspecting/monitoring large trash compactors used by commercial and residential tenants
  • Keeping residential and commercial trash areas clean and orderly
  • Monitoring and emptying all exterior trash receptacles and cigarette urns
  • Assist the property management team as needed with light duty maintenance items such as light bulb replacements, pressure washing, painting, use of gas-powered blowers, power and hand tools, etc.
  • Assist with management of tools and supplies for groundskeeping and property management team, including maintaining golf carts and other equipment
  • Responds to tenant requests as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Other requirements:

  • Ability to perform with minimum supervision; self-starter with strong work ethic
  • Must possess valid state-issued driver’s license, with a current address and acceptable driving record. Must have reliable transportation.
  • Willingness and ability to utilize mobile devices to manage electronic work order system
  • High School diploma or a combination of experience and education.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Frequent bending, standing and walking
  • Occasional crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
