Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.

- The Data Engineer will efficiently build and support an infrastructure to support all of the data needs of the organization. Working closely with the Director of Business Intelligence, Data Architect, application reporting leads, and BI Developer team, they ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the organization. The person in this role will be required to work with medical and financial professionals in order to identify the business' needs, interpret those needs to determine the data that is required, and produce accurate and practical data solutions to meet those requirements. This will include writing reports, supporting self-service tools, and establishing data pipelines among different applications in order to enable analysts and medical professionals alike to access the data that they require. This position primarily deals with data from the Epic EMR, so understanding the data landscape of Epic is integral to the function of this job.

Qualifications

Required: Relevant degree or experience in lieu of degree (see below)

Required: Epic Certification for Clarity Data Models (Within 12 months)

Required: Epic Certification for Caboodle Developer (Within 12 months)

Required: MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Development

Required: Three years of healthcare or technology related work experience

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

Reviewing System reports and identifying advanced analytics needs with report consumers.

Analyze non-Epic datasets to identify required data elements to be moved into Epic Caboodle.

Map non-Epic datasets to existing database structures within Epic Caboodle.

Develop custom imports to move additional pieces of Epic data from Epic Clarity to Epic Caboodle.
-
Develop custom and leverage Epic-developed ETL import packages to move non-Epic data into Epic Caboodle.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
