General Purpose:

The Data Analyst performs research and analyses to inform strategy and operations


Essential Functions:

  • Data Analysis & Research
  • Assist in the development of KPIs and establish processes for routine reporting of indicators.
    • Perform market research to inform business and financing decisions.
    • Identify, screen, and evaluate new technology opportunities to address business needs.
    • Manage monthly and annual organizational reporting of financial and operational data to Goodwill Industries International.
    • Manage data collection and reporting for the organization’s monthly Stat meetings
  • Analyze and report data quality health through regular monitoring, provide revisions and recommendations to bussiness stake holders as needed
  • Support data analysis needs of DGR (Retail)
  • Building & Management of Data Tools
  • Create processes and utilize tools to quality assure data collection.
  • Design user interfaces to capture bussines and operational data.
    • Utilize Business Intelligence applications for data visualization and dissemination of information.
  • Continually enhance and release improvements of operation and bussines tools and reports.


  • Creating a Data Driven Organization
    • Present analytical findings in written documentation, charts, graphics and presentations that effectively communicate results and implications for management decisions.
  • Create documentation for process, procedures or tools developed, as well provide training and support to business teams in the use of various processes , procedure and tools.
  • Project Management
    • Establish strong working relationships with program and operations colleagues and partner with operating units to promote success; adopt a constructive, supportive and consultative engagement with colleagues.
    • Develop project plans for all significant projects assigned that clearly outline tasks, responsible parties, the schedule and budget for each task and the project as a whole.
    • Take ownership of projects to ensure quality deliverables are achieved on-time
  • Staff Development Goals
    • Develop familiarity with Goodwill; bussiness processes; data and data systems to understand data collection, data usage, quality, and access.
    • Continue to develop the analytical skills necessary for the improvement of databases and the Data Warehouse used to conduct analyses and reporting


Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit/business management or other analytical field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in performing and presenting analyses.
  • Proven ability to lead projects for the development and deployment of Minimum Viable Products to test the viability of new technologies and business processes
  • Dynamic, fast learner who is highly organized and is both detail-oriented and able to maintain a big-picture perspective.
  • A creative problem-solving orientation.
  • A strong team player, with developed communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to foster constructive engagements with colleagues.
  • Experience with SQL database administration, reporting or application coding.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with Power BI and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic and Python a plus
