Position Summary

The Data Analyst is part of a data reporting team working with Business Analysts to understand the business questions and analyze the data needed to develop solutions. Data exploration is a key aspect of this role.

This role is hybrid and will require the successful applicant to be on our stunning Princeton, NJ campus twice a week.

The Data Analyst will work with Business Analysts and all stakeholders to understand needed trends and relationships in data bringing value to the business. This key role will help ensure the Visual Analytics and Insights team has the data and data relationships to build the data story for the business.

This role will also be charged with quickly getting up to speed on of all internal and external systems utilized by P&D to help outline data relevancy for the Visual Analytics and Insights team.
Experience and Skills:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and interview stakeholders to understand the business question and convert asks into reporting needs.
  • Translate business requirements to use cases with complete data, metric specifications, process/data flows via Visio, aggregated views for data automation, and reporting cube needs
  • Define metrics, calculations, and sources of data in the form of data dictionaries, data source listings, data relationships, and more for all data reporting teams
  • Collaborate with Visual Analytics team to help build the data story in response to the business question and prioritize actional insights with stakeholders
  • Partner with team members, stakeholders, and end users to ensure business questions are answered and delivered according to schedule with the required functionality
  • Define acceptance criteria, test plans, and provide feedback on solutions when necessary
  • Apply industry standard analysis, and documentation techniques where appropriate to assist in providing optimum solutions
  • Follow Agile development processes
  • Serve as the point of contact for communication with stakeholders and team members
  • Provide recommendations for process improvement
  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Science or Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or other similar degrees
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience working in Data Analytics, Product Management, Business Analytics, or in a different related field
