Summary

Beyond Basics is a student-centered, literacy-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1999 and located in metro Detroit. We use proven methods to provide holistic, multi-sensory literacy programming to unlock the power of reading. We bring students to literacy proficiency in underperforming K-12 schools.

This position will be responsible for the daily electronic compiling, sorting and entry of data. To support this initiative, this position will coordinate with various departments to collect and analyze information for data entry and report out on data. This position will also follow up on student data to identify missing or inaccurate information and validate all data throughput. Additionally, this position will document processes and procedures and help identify new processes as needed. Must be comfortable handling a high volume of tasks, with strong organization and documentation skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Entry of student information into Apricot database.
  • Use of Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools to produce reports.
  • Validate student information and audit data on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for reviewing information entered and generating data reports as required.
  • Provide support and coordinate with database manager regularly to stay informed of changes to required data entry procedures.
  • Maintain paper files for students and reports.
  • Document processes and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with events and fundraisers as requested, including after-hours events.

Education and Skills Requirement

  • 5-7 years of computer related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Advanced Excel experience required
  • Experience using the Apricot database platform is a plus
  • Familiar with database concepts and structures preferred
  • Experience working in a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • A history that demonstrates your passion to participate in a mission driven nonprofit that seeks to advocate for underserved children through education. (preferred but not required)

Work Environment

This position operates on-site in an office environment 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. This is not a flex-time position.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit and use hands as well as talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to focus on computer and documents. This position requires light filing. This position may require the ability to lift and move items.
