The Florida Center for Cybersecurity is currently recruiting candidates in the following regions only:

Region 2: Tallahassee, FL

Region 5: Orlando, FL


Primary Purpose:

As a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Cyber Security Outreach Ambassador is responsible for providing expert knowledge to assist with the Cyber Security Florida project, a risk assessment of the state's critical infrastructure (CI).


Primary Job Duties:

  • Promote the outreach and engagement necessary to facilitate Cyber Florida’s report of actionable solutions to improve the state's preparedness and resilience to significant cybersecurity incidents.
  • Attend Cyber Security Florida events in their respective regions to serve as a conduit to raise awareness and engagement in the risk assessment.
  • Utilize their contacts and network to conduct outreach efforts to promote participation in the risk assessment. May attend local and regional meetings with various CI sectors in public and private arenas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Cyber Security required -AND- a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in public safety and critical infrastructure (CI) officials and partnering with key stakeholders who Cyber Florida deems can support outreach efforts.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to partner and build strategic relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork. Decision-making skills, leadership skills, and detail oriented.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
  • Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Executive Leadership experience
  • Expert knowledge of the field’s concepts and principles.
  • Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; focused on customer and client satisfaction.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment – Typical indoor environment/office setting.
  • Physical Requirements – climbing, standing, stooping, and/or typing; Ability to lift up to 20lbs as needed.
  • Travel – Ability to travel to other USF campuses and/or other locations as requested.
