Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in the capacity of a sales engineer.
  • Experience in managing a sales engineering team or equivalent team.
  • Experience in a technical sales or consulting environment or on an
    enterprise architecture/systems engineering team. Experience with modern cloud architectures and technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of the broader cloud marketplace and the differentiators in offerings.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new and emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
  • Effective presentation skills, with the ability to deliver technical presentations.

As a Customer Engineering Manager, you will work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective, existing customers and partners understand the potential of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, and problem-solve any potential technical roadblocks. You will also be part of a diverse team of fellow Googlers working in an environment of respect and inclusion where we promote equal opportunities to succeed. You and your team will be trusted advisors to customers and advocates for our security solutions, providing support to C-Level, Security Leaders, Google Cloud Security Architects, and Security Analysts. In this role, you will ensure they have the strategic promoting and technical skill sets needed to lead projects forward.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $181,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high-performing Customer Engineering team that meets and exceeds quarterly business goals.
  • Support your team’s partnership with Security Sales and Google Cloud teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical and compliance objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Enable your team to demonstrate and validate solution benefits of Security and Data products in customer/partner environments.
  • Lead a team responsible for technical aspects of solutions, including such activities as supporting Google Cloud Security opportunities, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and customer relationships.
  • Ensure team prepares and delivers product messaging in an effort to highlight our solutions value proposition using techniques including whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and RFI response documents.
