Hiring Range: $56,489.00 - $66,083.00
Workdays/Hours: Monday - Friday / 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.


Position supervises field operations in assigned area; supervision will be exercised over cleaning services. Assigns and inspects work; performs quality control; ensures adequate staffing levels; and ensure compliance with applicable safety and operational policies and practices.

Position assists with procurement and budget preparation; serves as the first level of approval for purchases; writes specifications for purchases; coordinates the process for acquiring equipment; provides input into budget planning; and oversees inventory maintenance.


Position prepares maintains, and/or reviews fiscal and other reports, records, and databases; reviews the work of others to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Provides customer and staff assistance; responds to questions, concerns, complaints, and emergency requests; troubleshoots complex issues; reports accidents and injuries; conducts safety investigations; and provides information on policies and procedures.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of City facilities including ordering all cleaning supplies.
  • Ensuring coverage due to absences.
  • Overseeing less complex special maintenance projects.
  • Performing quality assurance checks.
  • Managing pest control contracts.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate degree or "equivalent".
  • Three years of equipment operation/driving experience or maintenance experience related to assignment.
  • Lead or supervisory experience.
  • Must complete job related and/or safety training based on assignment, such as (but not limited to) lock out/tag out, confined space entry, ladder safety, respirator and emergency evacuation training.
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • This position is critical to emergency operations and will report to work in spite of or because of an emergency or disaster event.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Supervising custodial services in a commercial building.
  • Supervising the sanitization and disinfection of surfaces during a pandemic.
  • Experience performing custodial or janitorial services.
