Job Summary
Principal Associates oversee policies and protocols to carry out research by providing technical guidance to less senior staff through the application of advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques, concepts and methods for the Justice Account. Principal Associates oversee and manage significant business development activities by obtaining additional work from existing clients or by identifying new markets and sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Principal Associates serve as a sales leader who takes responsibility for generating and managing a multi-million dollar revenue base annually. For this role, this will be focused on opportunities related to DOJ and other state, local, or non-profit justice clients.
• Direct sales and proposal efforts in accordance with the Division's and client account business development plan.
• Oversee and manage particularly complex and large projects with primary responsibility for DOJ and other Justice-related clients.
• Direct efforts to identify and recruit substantive senior staff for the purpose of overall staff allocation and project fulfillment.
• Collaborate with peers in other Divisions of the Company to identify new research approaches and potential markets for those services.
• In collaboration with the account and portfolio lead, direct proposal efforts, conduct sales briefings, and manages client relation/development activities.
• Maintains excellent business development relationships and be regarded within targeted markets as an industry expert.
• Oversee the planning, design and implementation of project protocols and procedures. Serve as the primary client contact on selected projects.
• Delegate the work of translating client needs and/or objectives into specific deliverables in a timely and cost efficient manner.
• Serve as the architect of the technical approach on the Company's most important winning proposals.
• Design studies through scientific leadership, technical and/or substantive expertise that address the clients needs. Methods and reputation should attract business.
• Supervisory/staff development proposal development skills also required.
• Principal Associates capably present and speak at client and professional meetings.
• P rincipal Associates have revenue goals of $2-4 Million.

Other Prerequisites

• Highest level of proven technical expertise and sought out as an expert within and outside the Company.
• Significant experience in business development and client relationship management.
• Experience identifying and selecting methods appropriate to DOJ or state, local, or non-profit funded justice-related projects, including both qualitative and quantitative methods, and appropriately sizing project approaches to client needs.
• Willingness to mentor and develop other staff in the account both on methods and on business development, and to contribute to a positive team environment on the Justice account and across the Healthcare Portfolio and Division.
  

Minimum Qualification

Master’s Degree + Fifteen years of relevant experience, or PhD + Ten years of relevant experience
