The State of Georgia Office of the Inspector General (OIG) promotes transparency and accountability in state government. OIG diligently investigates fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption in the executive branch. We work to promote effective controls, improve agency policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for efficiency. We also provide statewide oversight of sexual harassment investigations.

OIG is seeking a qualified candidate to support the office with investigative and intelligence analysis functions. The candidate will primarily be tasked with support of the office’s investigators and audit staff and will help conduct complaint triage and processing, intelligence gathering and analysis, and investigative analysis for fraud, waste, abuse, corruption, and sexual harassment investigations. This position will work in support of administrative investigations as well as criminal prosecutions. The candidate must successfully complete a series of background checks.

Responsibilities: This position will analyze evidence, crime reports, and databases to assist investigators, agents, law enforcement officers, and prosecutors in the investigation and successful prosecution of crime.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, information technology, or related field.
• Previous intelligence analyst experience.
• Existing criminal/intelligence analysis certification.
• Previous experience conducting financial analysis for investigations.
• Previous G.C.I.C. operator certification.
• Previous experience working in data analysis.

Organization and ability to multi-task under minimal supervision are essential for the position. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality are crucial. Telework is optional for a majority of the work week, but subject to change. Anticipated start date is December 2022.
