Part-time position of County Coordinator, 25-30 hours/week from home and/or office located in Kansas City, KS close to I-70 and I-435. Salary commensurate with experience.

Overview: Serves as the County Farm Bureau’s day-to-day representative. Is responsible for membership administration, organizational support, agriculture education for youth and adults, public relations, event planning and relationship building. Assists the Board of Directors with maintaining a positive image within the community and state. Exhibit initiative, creativity, a high level of character as well as be proficient in bookkeeping and computer skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizational Support:

  • Plans and designs printed materials, mailers, and brochures used to market the association.
  • Assists the Board with clerical/administrative support through duties such as: creating board meeting agendas, taking minutes, and distributing.
  • Enters and maintains the County’s accounting system, including but not limited to, check writing, making bank deposits, reconciling the bank account(s), and distributing monthly financial reports to the Board.
  • Uses social media as an outlet to promote the association.
  • Completes other duties, as assigned.

Membership:

  • Processes membership and creates membership reports for the Board.
  • Coordinates membership drives.
  • Responds to members inquires, questions and concerns.
  • Surfaces local vendors to provide additional membership benefits to the County’s members.

Event Planning:

  • Develops a timeline for activities and events.
  • Works with the vendors on contracts, venues and food.
  • Informs local media outlets, develops those relationships, and encourages their presence at Farm Bureau events.
  • Develops Community partnerships through solicitation of event donors and sponsorships.
  • Tracks and maintains the program, event and activity budget.

Relationships:

  • Builds relationships within the County’s members, the community and with local governmental officials.
  • Interacts with Farm Bureau Leadership, State FB staff, and Committee Chairpersons, provides assistance when needed.
  • Works under the supervision and direction of the County Farm Bureau Board and supports their decisions.

Experience/Skills:

  • Possess basic bookkeeping and computer skills.
  • Exhibit initiative and productivity.
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation.
  • Exercise a high level of character, morality, and good judgement, particularly with social media postings.
  • Is dependable and able to adapt to various situations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and developmental growth.
  • Is courteous and conducts her/himself in a professional manner, at all times.
  • Stay informed on agricultural Issues.
  • Create a positive image for Farm Bureau.

Physical Demands:

Requires the ability to sit and/or stand at a desk; operate a computer; listen and speak to others, both in person and over the phone; carry out public speaking obligations; set up displays, which may require lifting up to 25 pounds; work in an office environment or outdoors; occasionally work outside of normal office hours and standard workdays; and maintain a valid driver’s license.
