The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Environmental Manager will be responsible for helping WTW achieve internal Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives. This requires working cross-functionally with CR team members and various program leaders to ensure that we reach our goals.

The manager will play an integral role in program managing GHG emissions reporting including data collection, CDP submission, program design and implementation and communication in support of advancing ESG programs and communications. This role will report to the Corporate Responsibility Lead.

The Role

The Corporate Responsibility Environmental Manager will work closely with the head of corporate responsibility on all activities.

  • Program manage and coordinate annual GHG emissions reporting, aligned to the GHG Protocol, including data management, validation and communication across internal and external stakeholders to support WTW in meeting our Net Zero targets.
  • Lead the Science Based Targets initiative submission (SBTi), TCFD, SASB, CDP submissions, sustainability reporting and support renewable energy strategy activities.
  • Implement and agile approach to develop and communicate programs to improve GHG emissions across Procurement, Facilitates, IT, HR, travel and Risk.
  • Support the internal Heroes for Zeros employee network with programming content and communications.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on GHG reporting, the GHG Protocol, WTW’s CR global policies and programs across ESG functions. Support in analyzing and improving these programs to meet WTW’s internal ESG commitments and targets and engage employees.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ESG by researching and keeping abreast of programs, frameworks, methodologies and reporting standards including UN SDGs, UNEP FI, CDP, Ecovadis, World Benchmarking Alliance, etc.
  • Lead the annual environmental section submissions to MSCI, ISS, S&P, Sustainalytics, Ecovadis, etc.
  • Support ad hoc communications development.

The Requirements

A successful candidate will have the following qualities.

General:

  • Six plus years of professional experience, ideally for a global organization in a professional service or a B2B environment.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, self-manage and prioritize workload.
  • Proven understanding of CR and environmental, social and governance standards and guidelines, including, but not limited to, United Nations SDGs, SASB, GRI, CDP and TCFD.
  • Works easily within and across teams, encourages learning; ensures that all relevant parties are included in key team project tasks and decisions.
  • Regularly seeks out new opportunities to develop expertise, recognizing the value and importance of development opportunities; acquires and assimilates new knowledge at a fast pace.
  • Is optimistic about what the team can achieve together; emphasizes positives to help other team members, accepts the unknown.
  • Understands the need for change and is comfortable with ambiguous and uncertain situations; easily adapts to changing circumstances or demands and helps others on the team.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and adaptable with solid business and financial acumen.
  • Good communicator with excellent all-around listening, writing, editorial and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to company policies, guidelines and brand standards.
  • Strong analytic and program/project management skills.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Demonstrated technology experience and aptitude, particularly with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook group mailboxes, SharePoint and website management.
