Corporate Controller Job at Calev Systems

We are looking to build out our Finance team and are looking for motivated, experienced professionals. MUST be a NetSuite user.

We are looking for a Controller to support our Leadership Team. This person will lead the finance team in A/R & A/P reconciliation, employee expense reports, vendor management, billing inquiries, forecasting and budgeting, support business operations, and facilitate any special ad-hoc projects.

Compensation:

$100,000+ DOE

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all books reconcile with bank statements and prepare financial statements
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
  • Process payroll to provide payment to employees on time
  • Make sure accounts receivable/payable are complete
  • Properly record financial transactions

  • Maximize return on financial assets by establishing/enhancing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing/enhancing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protect assets by establishing/enhancing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Supervise and review AP, AR, and payroll and ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reports.
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, consolidating financial data, and recommending plans.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Ensure equipment operation by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; follow up on work results.
  • Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; plan, monitor, and appraising job results.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

Qualifications:
  • Must be well-versed in general accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Must possess exceptional communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Must have 2 or more years of work experience at an accounting firm or as a management accountant, bookkeeper, cost accountant or similar
  • Experience with Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA is an added, plus
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
