POSITION OVERVIEW

The dietary staff oversees and provides all dietary needs to the patients and employee lunches for the hospital. Also responsible for kitchen organization, ordering of stock items, cleanliness and compliance with regulatory body requirements. Ensures catering functions are scheduled and meals delivered to customers as scheduled. Uses menu provided by Dietary/Environmental Servies Manager for catering events. Ensures customers for these events are given billing statement and payments are made for each event. Provides and accommodates official staff meetings with food and beverage requests and sets up these events. Ensures food is rotated on a first in first out rotation (FIFO). Oversees cafeteria staff to ensure all resale items are stocked and restocked in a timely manner. Oversees the serving line in cafeteria to ensure all entrees are presented with eye appeal, tastes good. and meets health code guidelines. Ensure scheduled menu items have ingredients required and meat items pulled from freezer as outlined in health code guidelines. Checks in all food and supply deliveries to ensure product is not damaged and all supplies are received. Works cooperatively with: Providers, Healthcare Professionals, Allied Health Staff Patients and families. Receives direction from: Inpatient Supervisor and DON, hospital staff, patients.

EXPERIENCE

• Dietary experience in the hospital setting, preferred.
• Minimally 2 years of experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Hospital Dietary
• Needs to be knowledgeable and experienced in providing dietary support to the hospital patients including special dietary needs/requirements.
