About the role
Are you a proficient editor/proofreader and find satisfaction in polishing content until it shines? Do you have a solid background with websites and content management? If the answer is yes, you will be an excellent addition to our team!
We're looking for a detailed-obsessed Content Management Assistant to help us clean up digital assets and web page data. You will help us make our Digital Library data more consistent, craft good web page metadata, and improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and accessibility metrics.

What you'll do
  • Create new
    Digital Library
    asset archives from existing collections of assets. This will involve creating tables of contents, ZIPing up files, and keeping a meticulous log of old and new file locations.
  • Edit web page metadata to shorten page descriptions, which will boost SEO
  • Write meaningful image descriptions improve accessibility on web pages.
  • Review web content for improper formatting, according to style guidelines, and correct issues.
Who you are
  • Proficient in technical communication principles and English usage.
  • Able to identify both obvious and subtle content problems on web pages.
  • Possessing excellent written and oral communications skills, including editing and proofreading
  • Able to write keyword-rich content that conforms to style and content guidelines.
  • Quick learner who listens and asks good questions
  • Proficient with technology, such as Microsoft office suite, and able to pick up new applications quickly
  • Familiar with web content and communications best practices
  • Self-aware enough to identify and correct your mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed
Who we are
The SEI helps advance software engineering principles and practices and serves as a national resource in software engineering, computer security, and process improvement. The SEI works closely with defense and government organizations, industry, and academia to continually improve software-intensive systems. Its core purpose is to help organizations improve software engineering capabilities and develop or acquire the right software, defect-free, within budget and on time, every time.

The External Web Team manages three primary SEI web sites which are used by artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software engineers, as well as government sponsors.
