Job Title: Conneaut Lake Site Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Grade: Hourly

Status: Full-time Department: Childcare

Reports to: Childcare Director Revision Date:12/31/2020

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care program(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Enroll and orientate new children and families to childcare program.

2. Assist in supervision (see, hear, direct, and assess) and discipline of children at all times.

3. Assist in maintenance and cleanliness of the classroom.

4. Assist planning, developing, and implementing established curriculum including daily lesson plans and activities.

5. Set up physical classroom environment to meet the developmental needs of the children and all DPW regulations.

6. Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations on each child.

7. Plan, attend, and participate in all family events and program activities.

8. Plan, attend, and participate in all staff meetings and teacher in-service trainings.

9. Schedule, mentor and train all staff meeting all state licensing regulations and budget guidelines.

10. Support the program goals and mission of the YMCA.

11. Act as role model for children at all times.

12. Communicate with parents daily.

13. Maintain proper documentation in classroom including attendance, meal counts, child accident forms, and behavior/discipline forms for children assigned to classroom.

14. Maintain center compliance with all state and federal regulations.

15. Maintain child and staff records to meet state and federal regulations.

16. Proper ordering of supplies and equipment.

17. Assumes other duties as requested by Childcare Director/Director of Operations or designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

2. Three or more year’s related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of childcare programs.

3. Minimum age requirements apply; minimum age of 21.

4. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

5. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program specific certifications.

6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.
