This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and highly skilled team. Residing in the Product Development organization, the Coating Process Engineer will lead efforts to develop and commercialize manufacturing processes for our groundbreaking products, and serve as a key contributor to the growth of Verdox.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust roll to roll processes for Verdox proprietary products, including formulation production and coating
  • Make recommendations to R&D on potential coating methods to achieve product functionality
  • Translate prototype designs into scalable solutions achieving performance & cost targets
  • Lead formulation production and coating trials at external partners supporting scale up and production of coated electrodes
  • Establish product and component requirements, ensure quality of incoming materials
  • Analyze process and performance data to determine appropriate processing parameters
  • Contribute to strategy development for scale up of production, including capital equipment, supplier selection, make / buy analysis, etc
  • Collaborate successfully with product development teams to meet team goals
  • Work with Supply Chain to identify and develop new suppliers
  • Create Verdox SOPs related to processes and establish robust best practices

Qualifications

Educational background

  • BS in Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline

Work Experience

  • 5 years of hands-on experience developing roll to roll processes in coating required
  • Experience working in an ISO regulated environment strongly preferred

Job Skills, Experience, and Abilities

  • High level of hands-on experience developing roll to roll processes required, with exposure to multiple coating techniques
  • Experimental design and data analysis
  • Experience with formulation processes
  • Ability to interact productively with external partners
  • Experience specifying and implementing capital equipment projects
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly collaborative & rapidly evolving startup environment
  • Willingness to contribute in areas outside of core competencies to meet company needs
  • Experience with coating nonwovens and thin membranes a plus

Physical requirements/Work environment

  • 40% Shop-floor and laboratory work environment, 60% office environment
  • Ability to lift components weighing up to 35 lbs. is required
  • May be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods, as needed

Travel Required

  • Up to 35% possible, including domestic and international sites
