$5000 SIGN ON BONUS

Seeking an experienced, self-motivated CNC Machinist & Programmer to carry out milling operations. This position offers a variety of job complexity within the prototype environment. Will be cutting low volume production parts and materials such as steel, aluminum, plastics, and other various exotic materials.

Job Summary

• Program, setup, and run Haas mills and DMG Mori mills
• Use SurfCam to program parts using 2D and 3D toolpaths
• Determine and design custom fixtures for work holding requirements
• Use basic measuring equipment to perform quality inspections based on blueprint specifications
• Produce prototypes, sample parts, and small run production parts
• Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional work environment

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required, 2-year Machining Degree preferred
• 3+ years of relevant setup and programming experience in related industry
• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D programming
• Lathe experience a plus but not required
• Basic understanding of multi axis (3+1 and/or 3+2 indexing) machining concepts
• Proficient knowledge of Surfcam, or other related programming software (Mastercam, Hypermill, Fusion 360, etc.)
• Proficient knowledge of blueprint reading, tight tolerance machining, and geometric dimensioning (GD&T)

Work Schedule

• 1st shift work schedule, 4 – 10-hour shifts or 5 – 8-hour shifts
• Overtime work available based on workload

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle and feel parts of various size
• Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally throughout shift
• Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs moderately throughout workday, occasionally 50+ lbs with a team lift
• Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
• Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme, ear protection required and provided
• Work environment exposures include fumes or airborne particles (PPE available upon request) and moving mechanical parts and vibration.
