CNC Operator/Programmer

The PLASTEK GROUP headquartered in Erie, Pennsylvania is a world class manufacturer of plastic products for the consumer packaging, food and beverage and medical industries. The Plastek Group has additional locations in North Carolina, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Mexico. The Company is seeking a Molding Department Manager for it's Erie Pennsylvania location. Position Summary

CNC Operator/Programmer to program and operate 3 and/or 5-axis CNC machines for injection molds. Able to work efficiently by multitasking and planning unattended machine time to maintain cost efficiency and meet tight deadline requirements to meet customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

§ Program vertical milling machines using Creo (ProE) software. Will offer training as needed.

§ Use Creo and communicate with other departments to meet specific needs.

§ Program and operate 3 and/or 5-axis mills

§ Hard milling of steel

§ Soft milling of steel

§ Working with job leaders to manufacture details on various projects.

§ Inspection and documentation of critical machined areas.

§ Keep work area clean and organized via 5-S mentality.

§ Holding tight tolerances when finishing details.

§ Multitask and plan for unattended machine time.

Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience

§ Minimum of 4 years in CNC and Injection Mold building.

§ Ability to work independently or on a team is required.

§ Flexibility with work schedules and overtime is required.

§ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.

§ Knowledge of injection molding is required.

Preferred

§ High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred

Education and Job Experience Requirements

§ Successful completion of trade school and/or apprenticeship program

Pay range: $25-$31 depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
